Halloween Weekend

We enjoyed a wonderful Halloween weekend, especially since Bryan came home early on Friday after a long week away in Theodosia, MO. He had been working with his dad for the week. Friday we hung around the house and Emme helped me make Halloween sugar cookies and caramel apples with TONS of sprinkles on them. Saturday was "Emme and Daddy Day" while I spent some time in my office writing a paper for school. Then Saturday evening we reconnected at a small dinner party down the road. Sunday came quickly and Bryan headed off to the Rams game while Emme and I bummed around the house and visited my parents in Lake Forest. Whitney was visiting and some serious progress was made on the wedding invitation design! I even snuck in a good long workout while Emme snoozed for 3 hours. Then it was time for another party... we headed to a Halloween dinner and hayride down the street from my parents and met some super fun couples all with kids close to Emme's age. Thanks to Sarah for inviting us! We had tons of fun and Emme's pumpkin was VERY full of candy by the end of the night!
Today after gymnastics, Emme was being funny and asked us to 'party'. Apparently she enjoyed going to "parties" with us this weekend and knows that word means FUN! It's amazing what they pick up on at such young ages- it's always surprising me.
