Celebrating Christmas

We have been blessed with a wonderful 2010 Christmas season. After enjoying multiple Christmas parties earlier in the month, the real excitement FINALLY arrived on Christmas Eve when we began to officially celebrate Jesus's birhday with our families. On Christmas Eve we enjoyed a pajama brunch at my mom and dad's house. The snow was falling and it was an absolutely picture perfect Christmas Eve morning. Greg and Whitney couldn't wait to get Emme outside to play in the snow... this was her first "real" attempt at sledding and making/throwing snowballs. She warmed up to sledding after a few runs, but absolutely loved to make snow balls and smash them into the ground. She even liked when other people hit her with snow. It was fun to watch her giggle and smile:)
After a few hours we headed over to Bryan's parents house for the Jackson family Christmas which is always quite the event. We are almost up to 50 people in the family with the 17th great grand child on the way- this was announced to the entire family at Christmas... very exciting! After hours of visiting with family, eating amazing food, chasing after Emmerson and watching her get spoiled rotten it was time to celebrate Christmas with Bryan's immediate family. It was a LONG day, but action packed with family fun time. Emme did great ripping into her gifts and was very appreciative of everything. It was nice to see her so excited all day!
Christmas morning came quickly and to mine and Bryan's surprise Emme was 'over' the whole concept of opening gifts- she must have had enough the day before b/c she was more interested in playing with her toys from the day before than opening all of the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree. Santa even went all out with Tinker Bell and Disney Princess wrapping paper. lol.
The rest of Christmas was spent with the Nelson and Browne families and goes down in the books as one of the best Christmas's ever... having a child makes the holiday even more magical. I had plenty of Christmas spirit this year and am already looking forward to celebrating Jesus's birthday next year!
I hope you enjoyed your holiday as well! Merry Christmas!
