Theater Season

Besides spending tons of time with Bryan and Emme... I have been lucky enough to see some wonderful theater this summer. Taking advantage of a school free summer has not been difficult at all! The Muny season opener was Beauty and the Beast... the first show of my theater season. EJ and Kristen went with me and we really enjoyed the Spanish sounding accent of the "french" Lumere (candlestick) and the wimpiness of the beast. I love the kiddy shows- can't wait until Emme can start going to the Muny with us!
A few weeks later Kristin and her mom, my mom and EJ all had a girls night out starting with Eleven Eleven Mississippi and ending with Wicked at the Fabulous Fox! My mom and I had seen it before, but I could see it 10 more times! I love the story and the music. Gregory McGuire is the author who wrote Wicked and I have really enjoyed some of hst other books (Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Son of a Witch, Mirror Mirror). He twists classic stories and tells the story behind the story... I just love it.

The last 2 shows of my summer were Muny classics: Cats and The Sound of Music. My mom was able to come to both, but our 3rd season ticket which belongs to my Grandma went to Kristen for Cats and my Aunt Pam for Sound of Music... my Grandma does not tolerate heat well, but every week we are hopeful she will come with us! The shows have all been wonderful, and I am so appreciative of my wonderful husband who lets me continue to enjoy the theater. I can't attend the last couple shows this season, so I am already looking forward to the 2011 Boathouse dinners, chilled white wine, and wonderfully HOT Muny Season!
