My Favorite Patient

Besides her birth, Emmerson recently went through the biggest event of her life... She suddenly came down with pneumonia which won her a ticket into the pediatric unit at Missouri Baptist Medical Center for 6 days. It didn't help she had some severe reactive airway disease as a result of the pneumonia! She was a champ through all of it and did great with her IV and oxygen. Emme had so much support from her family, friends and the hospital staff. Emme's nurses made all of her treatment much easier by putting armbands on her stuffed animals, and referring to IV medicine as "giving her veins a drink". I am so very proud of my daughter- at age 2 she went through quite a lot with a good attitude and amazing grace! Now let's just hope this doesn't happen again!
