Two and a Half

Emmerson has hit the "wonderful twos"... Every day we are woken up by little feet stomping down the stairs and a little lady holding at least 2 "friends" and a blanket or lovey of some sort. She wakes up energized and ready for the day, but has to get in her snuggle time. She likes to lay by Bryan and I for at least 30 minutes and watch Mickey Mouse Club House and drink chocolate milk before getting ready for the day. Sometimes when I work I think her and Bryan snuggle a lot longer than that:)
Emme has also gotten bossy. She is very perceptive and confident for her age and enjoys telling others what to do... we are working very hard on helping her be aware of when she is being bossy. I am almost certain she is doing it on purpose at this point. She loves to push the envelope and see just how far she can take something. Just before she gets disciplined, she usually starts in with the "I'm sorry, I be a good girl" or "I will have good manners and be a polite girl". in her mind she thinks she can get out of anything by saying those things!
Emme's imagination has also taken off! She loves to tell "stories". One of my favorite things to do is watch her play. She has full conversations with her toys and her vocabulary and creativity completely shock me. Someone once told me that your children will always know more than you think they do and Emmerson is living proof that this is so true!
Another two and a half year old thing is discovering fear. She recently became scared of skunks. I do not know why or how because it is so random, but she does not like to go outside at night because "the skunks are out there". She has braved it in the past few weeks as we encourage her to get past her fear... she walked all the way down to her grandparents house in the dark (actually she ran- full speed, but she did it).
Bryan and I are having so experiencing so much joy as Emme continues to grow into a healthy, beautiful and intelligent little girl.
