Running Girl

Maintaining a feeling of normalcy for Emme has been a priority as we welcome the new arrivals to our family and adjust to the new "us". So for Emme that means keeping up with tons of fun activities such as running! She LOVES to run and LOVES racing. Sadly she already was rained out of the Go! Fun Run and the second race she was signed up for was on May 20th at the zoo... which didn't happen because of the twin's early morning arrival. So third time was a charm and Emme participated in a 50 yard dash in Arnold with just a few other kiddos which were all bigger than her. She did great and took off so fast, but at about the 40 yard mark she realized she wasn't in the lead and stopped dead in her tracks. It was funny, but not to her... she was crushed. So I ran the rest of the way with her and we had a wonderful talk about the importance of completing something once starting it and that winning is fun, but not always gonna happen. She took it fairly well after we talked about it. I guess we need to stop letting her win every race at home!
