For some crazy reason, I have decided to pick up extra shifts at work these last two weeks. Believe it or not, just two more 12 hour shifts have kept me busy enough where I haven't even had time to get online and (besides facebook) do my favorite online activity... blog :)
So I am glad to have the long work weeks behind me so I can focus on Bryan, Emme and the dogs.. and of course, school. Bryan has had a busy month at work, too. Because his job is a sales job, we love when he is busy!
Not to keep you all in suspense any longer about "the exciting news"... no, I'm not pregnant again... that seems to be everyone's guess when I tell them I have exciting news! The big news is "work" related!
I got a new job!
I will still be working at Saint Louis University Hospital, but not as a bedside nurse. Surprise! Everyone knows I LOVE my job and I love nursing, but a great opportunity came my way. In July I will be joining the hospital's quality team as a Performance Improvement Manager! It is flexible enough where I can stay in school and with this new position I have the opportunity to reach out to a lot more patients and work very closely with the hospital's staff that is providing direct care. I'm very excited about the change, but I will definitely miss 8ICU and bedside nursing. Working in the ICU is where I grew up... it's kind of like my home, but I always knew I wouldn't be there forever. So after 3 years, I'm moving on and will hopefully figure out just what nursing has in store for me. That's what is so great about this career... there are so many different job opportunities and so many different directions your career can go in. Someday I will know for sure "what I want to do when I grow up". For now it's a new job and continuing to work on that MSN degree! Wish me luck :)
