HALF Weekend

Last weekend was beautiful and we enjoyed every second we could outside. On Saturday, Emmerson and I played in the yard while Bryan mowed. Emme pushed her Cozy Coup all over the place and then we built one of her tents and played in there with her tea set. Emmerson absolutely LOVES going outside. She stand by the door trying to grab the handle to get out. Last week I heard the front door shut and went to check it out... she had escaped the safety of being inside and was standing not so innocently at the top of the stairs... talk about scary! At least I caught her before she took a tumble. And Bryan and I know not to leave any doors open... she know how to open storm door apparently. She is quite the independent girl and she is always exploring new things.

Later on Saturday evening I headed up to my friend, EJ's apartment in the West End to have a girl's night in with the friends I was running the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon with on Sunday! The race started at 7am so we thought for the sake of getting sleep and missing out on traffic we would stay close by. We each brought an Italian themed dish and enjoyed a lot of great conversation. Sunday morning we took the metro downtown where all 4 of us finished the half with our best times EVER! It was my 5th time running a half marathon and I was so excited to run so well. It was perfect weather: 60 degrees, sunny, slightly breezy, and most of the course was shady. I went home to spend the rest of the day with Bryan and Emmerson and felt like a very accomplished mother. It was a great weekend and I am so glad that spring and amazing weather are FINALLY here!
