This holiday weekend we decided to stay in town for some serious July 4th celebrating instead of our normal weekend getaway to the lake! Friday morning after my night shift, Emme, Mema and I headed north to the Botanical Gardens for a relaxing and quiet morning together. Emme loved the tree house displays and the childrens garden. We ate lunch as Sassafras, the garden's restaurant and it was a super delicious cafe. Emme ate a kiddo cheese tray with grapes and berries... probably her most favorite dish she has ever eaten out at a restaurant!
On Saturday we went to a Little Gym playdate where Emme played her heart out with 4 of her gymnastics friends while Bryan and I got some much needed "adult time" with the parents. We always have so much fun at these get togethers... especially when fireworks are involved! Emme didn't care too much for the sprinklers, but LOVED the pop rocks!
We wrapped up the weekend on Sunday with a pool play date with the Kentch's. It was a blast, even in the rain. Bryan enjoyed sipping on some "dude" and we had SO MUCH food for our BBQ and it was all amazing! Overall it was a great weekend... a great "staycation"!
