hospital happenings

Bryan and Emme's first diaper change... Bryan is a great dad and changed all of her diapers at first. I don't think I changed a single one until day 3!

Emmerson discovers her hands... she loves to put them by her face. Looking back at

our ultrasounds, her hands were either in her mouth or covering her face in almost every picture! She just likes them up by her face, I guess! She was starting to suck on her fingers so we went ahead and gave her a pacifier. We decided it would be much easier to break her from the pacifier than her own fingers someday.

Emme is such a little angel, sleeping or awake! She had her days and nights a little confused in the hospital, but we stayed patient

and took turns tending to her while the other one slept at night. The first few days she was pretty calm, only when she was hungry did she get fussy! We decided to breastfeed and it is going really well, Emme has a HUGE appetite and is a natural.

Emme already has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. There is just something special about Dad's and their little girls.

When Emmerson was born, Bryan asked the Dr. if it was a girl... I think he was holding on to that last glimpse of hope that she would come out a boy! As hopeful as he was, he is so happy with his new little lady and loves her very much.

Emme is all snuggled in her car seat for her first car ride. I have never been so nervous on the highway as I was on our way home with her. It's amazing how quick the maternal worry and concern kicks in! She slept the whole time and we got home safely in one piece.

Kim-it's Ginna, Erin Stoll's sister again. Is your ob Dr. Beth Gearhart. I thought I read that on Emme's bed in the hospital.
