Emme is getting more independent and more active with every passing day. She gets herself into a standing position with ease and has no troubles pulling all of her toys out of her little toy box in the living room within minutes.... even if it means just about tumbling into the box from trying to reach so far.

She is getting more and more interested in books, too. She likes to be read to, but only for about 5 minutes.... she would much rather have the book in her hand to flip around and chew on.
This weekend was reserved for some quality family time, which Emmerson enjoyed tremendously. All of her Mommy's attention was on her.
Emme is still working on mastering the sippy cup, but manages to do pretty well with it when she feels like it.

Sunday was a chilled out, lay around kind of day and I managed to get some studying time in for my big exam coming up this week. We headed to Emmerson's Grandma and Grandpa Hilbert's house for some pizza and brownies and some more spoiling. It was nice to have a family weekend because the weekends for the next month and a half are very busy. A lot of the day consisted of making Emme's baby food.... the older she gets, the more she eats, and the more time I spend making her food. Thank God for the babycook, it is only like the best invention EVER. It steams and purees the food all in one and you can make the food whatever consistency you desire. We are now onto a more chunky puree since she is starting to eat some table food. Now we are just waiting on those teeth to pop up!
Saturday we went to the All Ford Car Show at Crestwood Mall. Grandpa Pete put hs Mustang in the show and ended up winning first place in his division! Emme had a good time pretending to drive and being the center of attention. Since we were conveniently so close to the mall, it didn't take us long to find Baby Gap where Emme's Grandma Browne bought her the cutest outfit from the St. Petersberg line that I just love.
Sunday night before bed Emme had her evening bath and it somehow turned into playtime. The days of taking a 3 minute bath are long gone now that she has "fun" taking baths and playing with her rubber duckies. She even insisted on playing with them while she dried off and put on lotion. I could see the sadness on her face when I made her put them away.... but she didn't cry. She is such a good, big girl:)

**Emme stood on her own today (Tuesday) without any support for 5 seconds!.... she is in such a hurry to grow up!

Three things:
1. I love how she is standing on her tippy-toes while reaching into the toy box... too cute.
2. Those orange pants are adorable... so, so cute for fall! She is so stylish (ha!).
3. Her eyes in the last picture are beautiful- what a doll!
