An Evening in Kirkwood
After a day full of homework; lectures, projects and my first try at NP clinicals included, Bryan, Emme and I met up with my Aunt Ann and Uncle Bob in lovely downtown Kirkwood. We enjoyed a few half price appetizers at Bar Louie and a couple of brewskies before we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We took a nice stroll on the sidewalks of Kirkwood before heading back to my aunt and uncle's home for a glass of wine and homemade carrot cake. We always have such a good time with Ann and Bob... and Ann always has the best desserts for us to indulge in! The carrot cake was yum-yum! We were having such a good time and Emme was doing so well we didn't even notice it was almost 10:00pm, which is way past Emmerson's bedtime. She was having trouble drifting off to sleep in her pack'n play so we headed home to get ready for the big day ahead of us on Saturday at the Arch Rivalry game.
Emme has been really interested in what Bryan and I are eating, so we usually find something on our plate that we feel is ok for her to chew on and let her "explore". At Bar Louie, the unfortunate happened... Emmerson had her first taste of dead rotting flesh in the form of a chicken wing bone. Gross. She loved it though! Since she doesn't have any teeth we didn't worry about the bone splintering, she was more interested in the crispy grizzle on the ends anyways.... one more time: GROSS!
