~Courtney~
6 years ago at a random Ste. Genevieve party I met one of the most fun loving crazy people I have ever met... Courtney and I were instant friends. Our friendship grew quickly throughout a summer of volleyball games, endless nights at the Marina, road trips, shopping trips, random parties, adventures in Bonne Terre and Farmington and lots of dancing. Courtney had just graduated high school and I remember her mom being hesitant to let her go "out" a few times, but she was always ok if Courtney was with me. Over the next couple of years we stayed close... I loved spending time with Court and her adorable and awesome friends. Courtney visited me at college and I came back to Ste. Genevieve to hang out with her. It was always fun and always an adventure (i.e. Wild Country.... need I say more). Courtney loved to hang out with my brother, Steve and I. One random summer day we were all 3 extremely bored, so we went out and bought enough fireworks to keep us busy and entertained into the wee hours of the morning. When she worked at Curves, I spent hours visiting with her because she was always so bored working there and couldn't stand to not have someone to talk to at all times. As we grew up, I settled down and over the last few years our wild times slowed down to a couple random hang outs a year. Courtney did a beautiful job styling my hair for my wedding and I even let her cut it a few times! HaHa... She did great. Last weekend I got the news that this lovely, young, beautiful 24 year old girl got her angel wings. All of the memories we shared have been flooding my mind and it is as though we never lost touch. I realized that once you open your heart to another person and you become friends, you always love that person whether you talk every day or every other month. I will miss Courtney forever and will always remember all of the amazing times we had together... laughing and living life to it's fullest. Ironically enough, I went through my t-shirt drawer recently and found a "C-Boz" t-shirt she let me borrow once and I guess I never got it back to her...
