my favorite hump day of the year

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving has been my absolute favorite "hump" day of the year ever since I was about 19 years old. It is THE DAY to reconnect with all of those people you do not have the opportunity or the time to see the rest of the year. Most families and friends are "home" for Thanksgiving and the night before is always a good time at your local bar, where ever you might be from. In Sainte Genevieve it is one huge reunion that I look forward to every year.

So as I wrap up my 3 day work week and head home I will reminisce about years past and who I might see tonight... I will be thankful for all of the wonderful friends in my life... and my amazing family. I will be so excited for the 2 thanksgiving feasts we get to enjoy tomorrow and for having family to celebrate the holiday with. But most of all, on my drive home I will be excited about tonight and getting to see all the familiar faces that make being from a small town so special and sincere. I used to hate living in a small town, but after leaving for 6 years and enjoying the "real city" I feel so lucky to be where I am today and to have the town of Sainte Genevieve to call my home. There is just something special about being from a place where strangers are connected through friends and family so there are no real strangers anywhere you go... I am thankful to know what that connection is like. So wherever you celebrate Thanksgiving, or the eve of, I hope you realize how special your situation is and are just as thankful as I am for all of the wonderful blessings life brings... there is always SOMETHING to be thankful for!

For all of those who I won't be seeing tonight or tomorrow.... have a Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!

Happy Thanksgiving :)
