weekends are my thing

I couldn't sleep in today for some sad reason, so here I am blogging again. Good thing Bryan is asleep or he would be sure to get a good laugh out of my blogging at 5 am on a Saturday morning! I just woke up so relaxed and refreshed that I could not stand laying in bed any longer. Sometimes I get so excited about nothing.... we really don't have any exciting plans this weekend, but I just can't seem to wait to get started enjoying it.

Yesterday was nice because I got to leave work before 1pm! I am orientating the new nurse manager the next few weeks and had racked up too much overtime this week, so "unfortunately" for me, I HAD TO leave work early.... :) Happy face! So instead of going home, I found myself at Whole Foods... my absolute favorite grocery store, walking up and down the aisles, enjoying myself way too much for being at a grocery store! I really don't care if people call that place "whole paycheck", to me it is what every grocery store should be... BIG, full of healthy, preservative free food and with a TO-DIE-FOR wine selection. Which, don't worry, I don't look at anymore! But once February rolls around you know where to find me! Picking out my favorite bottle of Cabernet at Whole Foods! Then I went to Scrubs and Beyond and finally had to fork over some money and my pride and buy some maternity scrubs. For some reason, I thought I would be able to fit in mine this entire 9 month journey, but I guess fitting in them for 7 months is pretty good! After that I went home to my eagerly waiting husband who was so nice to carry my groceries in for me and help me put them away. Then we headed to blockbuster to rent a movie for the evening. We made dinner together: grilled asparagus, baked taters with all the toppings, salad, and Bryan had a grilled pork chop... all while we were watching Tropical Thunder, which in my opinion was not as funny as I was hoping for. It didn't matter though, as long as Bryan and I are together, I'm happy... I would be willing to watch much worse just to spend a Friday night "in" with him!

Today I have every intention of finishing up my pathophysiology lectures early this morning so Bryan and I can enjoy our day together. We really don't have anything to do, which is amazing, so I think we are going to clean out the basement, which he has been wanting to do for weeks and I have been wanting to do since we moved in a year ago! Go ahead and take a wild guess at which one of us is "the anal one" in the relationship.... I like organization and order, what can I say? ha ha. The rest of the weekend is up in the air, but I like it that way. Our days of spontaneity are slimming down, so I am really enjoying the "plan as you go" days we are enjoying. Now I am going to peel myself away from the computer and enjoy a blueberry muffin and some news before digging into my homework.
Have a super weekend everyone!

You definitely should enjoy the "get up and go" lifestyle because it will come to a screeching halt! The day before Madden was born Jed and I went on a motorcycle ride and had ice cream. You just can't pick up and go when you have that little one! Its more than worth it but enjoy your husband now because it is hard to do it later. Also, sorry to hear about your belly, I am sure the Princess was very upset about you trying to burn down her house! HaHa If we don't see you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
