Week 31

This has been a very interesting week with little miss Emmerson...
I swear, she does not sleep anymore! She is constantly moving, ninja style, and I can see her movements when I look at my belly! It's fun to watch things poking out around my belly, but not in the middle of the night when all I want is some peace and quiet. I really do love it though... being pregnant that is. It is such a miracle and all the times I have been woken up this week are probably natures way of preparing me for the lack of sleep I have to look forward to once the princess has arrived.
I also managed quite the little mishap Wednesday morning when I was getting ready for work. Things were going just fine, I had showered, put my stretch mark prevention lotion over every inch of my body, and was on to makeup and hair. The latter one was the issue... aparently I am still not used to my exponentially growing abdomen. I really do think it is growing over an inch a week. 2 months ago there was nothing and now I can't keep track of where the belly is. I don't know how "large" people do it. It is difficult just to bend over sometimes! Anyways, so I was curling my hair and somehow managed to forget I had a huge preggo belly and somehow seared my freshly lotioned skin with the curling iron. OUCH! I guess it is possible to lose track of your body parts when they grow so fast... I notice this when I hug people, too. It's an eye opening experience everytime because I am further and further away from people. It really is a good way of measuring how big the belly is getting... just try and hug someone! Anyways, about 2 inches to the right of my soon to be "outty" belly button is a pretty good size burn mark... I wonder what my OB will say at our doctor apt. coming up on Tuesday... hmmmm. All I can say for now is that it really hurts!
And for the weekly update....according to babycenter.com, Emmerson is now 16 inches long and is amazingly heading into a growth spurt. She is already over half a pound bigger than the "average" they post on babycenter.com.... YIKES! I'm not sure how it is possible to have a growth spurt when growing so rapidly as iat is, but we will be finding out soon... I'm sure the size of my belly will be evidene enough! She can now turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. I hope some fat finds its way to her cheeks... I think chubby cheek babies are just soooo sweet, like the Gerber baby!
The countdown begins....
~9 weeks to go~
