Today Emme had her two month check-up. We went in a week early due to her belly button issue that I mentioned in a previous post. Her strange looking slimy bump sticking out of her belly button wasn't the umbilical hernia I thought it was.... it was just scar tissue that hadn't healed yet! Apparently this is common in babies whose cords fall off early. Bryan and I were worried for nothing. He was so funny when he told me to stop being a mom and be a nurse. It is so true that mommy comes before nurse when it comes to your baby!
Emmerson weighed in today at 13 lbs which puts her in the 99th percentile for her age! So pretty much we have a huge daughter. Her head circumference and length were in the 90th percentile... she measured in at 23 inches long. She is growing so fast, I already have a plastic storage container full of clothes that no longer fit her voluptuous figure!
Princess Emme also got her first round of vaccines today. She had to get 3 shots: after the first one she fussed a little like she was unsure of what just happened, but ok with it, after the second one she was a goner. She wailed so hard she wasn't breathing, wasn't making any noise, and had a face the color of a strawberry. Only I would find this miserable face of agony absolutely adorable... she calmed quickly and was asleep by the time we were in the car. The fun came later on when her legs started to get sore...
We went by my Grandmother's house in Kirkwood and then went out to lunch with my Aunt Ann. We were enjoying a nice meal at First Watch when the little lady decided to make her presence known with a 1o minute wailing session. She was inconsolable for the first time EVER, not kidding. She wasn't hungry and the 5 S's only worked for a few minutes before the wailing started again! This fun continued for the next couple of hours until she wore herself out enough to finally eat and get some rest. She has been fine ever since, but getting a taste of what a cry baby is like was no fun. Bryan admitted at the restaurant he was embarrassed.. I said "just wait until she can talk"!

Poor Emme... I still cry like that when I have to get a shot and I am 29!
A big baby, huh? Quinn was 10.5 lb and 24 inches at birth... I am scared! ;-)
