Last weekend we took the opportunity to spend some family time away... we only went down to Bryan's parents lakehouse at Lake of the Ozarks, but to me it felt like a vacation! I have been "home" so much lately and it was so nice to go somewhere else for a few days:) It is crazy how much more stuff you have to pack when you have a baby. I still don't know how I crammed everything into my trunk. It took some serious packing skills to make it work!
We got down there Friday evening, Bryan and Paula flew down and weren't too far behind us. They were so sweet to watch Emmerson while Bryan and I went out to dinner, just the two of us! We went to Rizzo's, I had an amazing shrimp pasta dish, to die for bruschetta and a delicioso glass of Cabernet. Then we just hung out at the house the rest of the evening.
Saturday was a lot more exciting! After taking a nice jog and spending some time with Louie and my ipod, the 3 of us headed out to the stores. There is amazing shopping down there... Marshall's Megastore and tons of outlets! We hit up every baby outlet and Emme got SPOILED with tons of new clothes. Bryan and I walked away with just a few items each... It's amazing how that changes! We had a great time walking around outside shopping because the weather was gorgeous and Emmerson was being a little angel. I think she likes to shop like her mom does!
The real excitement started Saturday evening when we all went out to eat at a new restaurant down there, Baxter's. While we were waiting to be seated Bryan kept going to the bathroom for long periods of time so I knew he was getting sick. Finally we convinced him that we were all ok with going home and good thing we did, because 10 minutes after we got home we was hugging the toilet. This continued the rest of the night, all of the next day and into Sunday night. So needless to say, the rest of the getaway was pretty low key and we ended up not getting home until Monday afternoon... Just in time for my massage and Donnie's Birthday! Bryan was feeling much better, except for all of the sore muscles that 2 days of puking creates... Ew!
Emme with Grandma and Tanker at the lake...

In the driver's seat already...Emme loves the hummer and can't wait to take her first ride!!!

Kim!
Isn't it amazing how much bigger babies seem every week?! Emme is getting cuter by the picture!! I'm glad you got to get out of the house, being cooped up is no fun!
When do you go back to work?
Have a good rest of the week!
Lauren
