Our weekend started out on Friday evening with a date night. It was a real date night because Grandma was babysitting Emmerson, I had a glass of Chardonnay and Bryan opened car doors for me! It's amazing what you grow to appreciate when alone time like this is so far and few between :)
So the evening started with us stopping by my best friend, Stephanie's Grandma's wake. It was sad, but so good to see all of Stephanie's family. From there Bryan took me to Drunken Fish for dinner because he knew I have been craving it since last May (can't eat it when you are preggers). It was to die for... Drunken Fish is my fav sushi! We got 3 of my favorite rolls and ate ALL of it. Then we went to the Funny Bone and saw two pretty funny stand up acts. Then we headed to the Jazz Bar next door where I tried a Bud Light Lime, which I have been waiting to try since last spring, and ended up being disappointed. I am not a fan. I was surprised since I know so many people who love it. Maybe I will give it another chance on a hot, humid summer day. There is nothing like a crisp, ice cold beer in the high of summer!
Then Saturday rolled in and we spent the day hanging out with our baby girl. Her and I headed up to a wedding shower in St. Louis in the afternoon and from there she went home to hang out with Bryan all evening, while I spent the night with some of my best girls! We enjoyed an amazing dinner at Herbie's Vintage 72 in the Central West End (and some delicious wine), then headed down the street to Sub Zero, a vodka bar with a really fun atmosphere.... and a place that George Clooney has been known to frequent since he has been in town! Even though we didn't see George, we had a blast. From there we went to Brennan's and had a few drinks and kicked back for some good girl talk. We didn't leave until 1 am which is at least 2 hours later than I have stayed up for almost 3 months. Then we trekked a few blocks back to EJs apartment while we were being showered with ice. It was a lot of fun, let's just hope none of us caught a cold!
Girl's Night fun with Lauren, Jamie, Me, EJ, and Kim!
