All About the Little Things

Bryan, Emmerson and I were finally feeling well enough to do some necessary grocery shopping, so yesterday we headed to the store together (this rarely happens). First we took a slight detour by Sonic where we enjoyed the nice weather and ate outside. They have the perfect menu for Emmerson, grilled cheese with a banana on the side- 2 of her favorite foods! She got a cool football toy, too!

Then we headed over to Schnuck's and when we pulled up in the parking lot, we happened to park next to a cart return that held the coolest shopping cart ever just waiting for us to use... it was a shopping cart with a car attached to the front of it. I'm sure you have all seen these being used in stores, but they are always in use... this time it was ours! Emmerson was so excited because it was like her cozy coup she has at home. She sat on her seat the whole time and really enjoyed playing with the steering wheel. It was so much fun pushing her around because she was having so much fun doing something as lame as grocery shopping! These are the "little things" in life that I have come to realize are what life is all about. These "little" memories and moments are what are important and personally, how I want to remember my daughter when she isn't so "little" anymore. I happen to be an insanely busy person and feel like I miss out on these moments too often... it has led me to begin thinking about doing some serious soul searching and re-evaluation of what really is important right now.... Family, Work, School... something has got to give! Life is too short to miss all the "little things"!
