Our Busy Little 13 month old

Emme is so adventurous right now and is a girl who knows what she wants. She marches herself around the house on a mission... usually heading into the bathroom to get her toothbrush. Emmerson is communicating more and more and just started pointing at what she wants. When she is tired, she points at her crib, when hungry, she starts moving her highchair into the middle of the kitchen, when she wants to go outside she reaches for door handles. She has also learned to put things away after playing with them; the other day she put her toothbrush back in the drawer and even shut it before walking back into the living room to play with something else! After a diaper change, she will pick up her dirty diaper, holding it arms length in front of her (as if she knows it's dirty) and then walks to the trash can knowing that is where it goes. Someone once told me that kids always know more than you think they do... and I totally agree with that one. She is always surprising us with what she knows!
Emme loves the new apps I added to my iPhone for her to play... one is a matching game that has some funky background music that she can't get enough of. Once she hears it, she instantly starts dancing.... I tried catching some of her moves below. She has the hip swing down!

Emme was not happy when I took the phone away from her. Normally she is laid back and goes with the flow, but she LOVES my phone and was not a happy girl:)

Playing with a balloon she got after we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Red Robin in West County. Bryan and I love taking her there because it is such a fun environment for kids and they have healthy options (like melon and oranges), not just french fries... and Emme loves it because she gets a super cool balloon!

Emmerson just keeps getting bigger and bigger and more and more fun! We have a blast playing with her and watching her grow. She recently learned where her tummy is and can also point to her ears and nose. We love asking her where her tummy is because she gets so excited when she grabs it and we clap for her! Praising her for her learning and good behavior is one of the best parts of being a mom!
