I was looking into my daughter's smiling face today and started to tear up at her mere innocence. She is as sweet as sugar and knows nothing but what comes naturally to her. If she wants to smile, she will, if she wants to fuss, she will, if she wants to lay down and play by herself, whoever is holding her will eventually figure it out, and she gets to roll around and reach and try to put things in her mouth as much as she wants. She is open and unrestrained, completely unconstrained in all she does. If she has to poop, she will let it out in front of anyone and everyone as loud as she possibly can. If she gets hot at church, she wants you to take her clothes off so she can cool off, even though she's at church and God prefers people to where clothes in His house. Her sweet nature just melts my heart and as she is growing and getting her own little personality she simply fascinates me. I find myself staring at her in amazement and wonder... just so proud of her and so happy for her. I now understand why parents have that strong instinct to protect their children from the evils of the world... their innocence is precious and makes them little angels... but vulnerable little ones that completely, whole-heartedly trust and rely on you to provide them with everything they might need.
Emmerson is my adorable little angel!
I'm so in love...
Big brother Louie is hanging out with Emme in her bumbo!
Her shirt says "My Daddy thinks I'm sweeter than sugar"... so true!
Trying to roll over... she can get to one side or the other, but not all the way!
So close... keep trying, Emme-poo!
