My Golden Glove

First of all, I think it is amazing that each year, nurses are celebrated for not just a day, but an entire week! This year has been especially wonderful.... Saint Louis University Hospital has an annual awards ceremony for the nursing staff where awards are given out for "Rookie of the Year", "Pinch Hitter", "Golden Glove" and "MVP". We also get to enjoy a video of pictures taken throughout the year of the hospital's nursing staff and a wonderful reception afterwards with amazing food. (They even served mini veggie sandwiches.... which was much appreciated because it's very uncommon for people to think of sandwiches for us vegetarians.)
Below is a picture of my "Golden Glove" award... I was nominated for ICU nursing and actually won! It was such a surprise and such an honor. I haven't won a trophy since middle school math competitions and it felt nice to have some hardware that shows hard work has been recognized. I don't know why they go with a baseball theme, but it works I guess!

HAPPY NURSES' WEEK!
