A Week Of Firsts

Emme is 3 months and 3 weeks old and changing every day. This week had a lot of firsts and had opened my eyes to just how quickly these little tots develop, grow and learn. While at her Grandma's house, Emmerson decided to roll over for the first time... I was a little disappointed I missed it, but not too bad because the next day she rolled over for me while we were at the doctor's office!
The Doctor appointment went really well... she got a clean bill of health and the go ahead to start eating rice cereal. She is becoming slightly more proportionate to girls her age after weighing in at 15 pounds, 10 ounces and jumping down from the 99th to the 95th percentile. She is 25 and 1/2 inches long which puts her in the 85th percentile for length.

The little chunker has been eating breastmilk nonstop and it's been getting more and more challenging for me to keep up, so Bryan and I agreed (with the Dr's okay), to start feeding her real food. Right after Emme's Dr. apt we went to the store and I picked out the best organic rice cereal I could find and some organic baby juice to help wash it down... and to prevent constipation since rice cereal is all fortified with tons of iron. According to the pictures below you can tell how much fun she had trying to figure out what to do with all that "stuff" in her mouth! Bryan did a great job feeding her in her little bumbo, I'm so glad we got the tray for that thing, it's helpful since she is still a little too small for her high chair. Of course, we had the video camera out and made this huge production of it for some reason... it was really funny. I think we knew she'd make a mess and couldn't wait to capture it on camera!
