Turkey Week

Better late than never.....The week of Thanksgiving was just delightful. I only went into the hospital on Monday and Tuesday, so I had some much needed family time blocked out for the remainder of the week. Mom and I went to see New Moon on Tuesday evening (which was so good and really has me thinking about reading the books) Wednesday was spent hanging out with Bryan and Emmerson, and Thanksgiving day started bright and early... I met my friend, Kim, in Chesterfield for the 10th annual Turkey Trot. It was a nice relaxing 5k and really fun because there were so many families with kids and dogs and it just made it feel less like a race and more like part of a community of people who just want to be active. (Or just want to burn some extra calories before stuffing their faces the rest of the day)Emme loves to play in the bay window... the glass is always smudged from her littler hands and mouth! She loves to lick glass, yum! haha.
We started our day of Thanksgiving at Bryan's Mom and Dad's house with the loud Browne's. The food and company was amazing... Emmerson loved the turkey! I loved the Riesling. Then we headed to my mom's for some more family fun time and delicious food. It was very nice to see my cousin who now lives in Florida and we don't get to see very often... He is a busy lawyer. We also got to meet his new wife who is so sweet and beautiful. I wish they lived closer!
Having a good time at Grandma's house!
She loved the turkey... she is very into feeding herself right now and I think that is why she liked it more than the side dishes.... they were too messy for her to feed herself.Uncle Mike being silly. My mom actually wore this wig once upon a time... in public!Emmerson lover her Aunt Whitney and the balloon Uncle Bob and Aunt Ann brought for her. It makes a crinkley sound that she just loves! And it floats in the air like magic!
Even Rocky had something to chow down on!
I have so many things to be thankful for and it was so nice to take a day out of the norm to slow down and just appreciate things.... The peach of the day was the wonderful family time and the pit of the day was the fact it flew by. Time flies when you are having fun!

The weekend started after I picked up a 12 hour shift in the MICU. It was nice to be back at the bedside doing patient care. I need to keep up those skills and it is nice to spend time with my old co-workers.
Saturday started early in O'Fallon, Missouri with family pictures (The Jacksons). We snuck Emmerson's Christmas pictures in the mix ... they are already posted. I think they turned out well!
After family pictures Bryan gave up on trying to make it to play football in the Turkey Bowl in time, so we went to lunch at a yummy restaurant called A'mi's. I got eggplant pizza which sounds weird, but tastes amazing. Then Bryan, Emmerson and I drove back down to Sainte Genevieve and caught the tail end of Turkey Bowl. An old high school friend was there that I haven't seen in years, so it was nice to catch up. After spending some family time together that afternoon, Emme went to her Grandma's, Bryan went out with the guys, and I headed up to St. Louis to go out with Kristin downtown. I just love the city and going out with Kristin... it was much needed after the last few months of complete chaos. We enjoyed sushi and drinks at Sub Zero and fell in love with their bar. I have probably been to this vodka bar at least 10 times over the last 5 years and never noticed that their bar has a 12 inch wide strip of ice running down it... it was too cool. Then we met up with Steve on the Landing for like a drink before a little bit of drama set in, but we managed to overcome it and overall had a good night. After a night of drinking, I broke Steve in and took him to Eat Rite for a nice greasy breakfast! I don't think we will be going back to that fine establishment anytime soon, but everyone has to experience Eat Rite (or don't eat at all) at least once in their life.
Sunday was chill for Emmerson and I. Bryan went to another Ram's football game and we spent most of the day hanging out with her grandparents and doing housework.
