Emmerson is doing so many cute things right now as she continues to grow into a little toddler and learn new things. I just have to write them down somewhere so I never forget them, and what better place to do this than on our family blog where she will be able to come back and read this for the rest of her life.
-Emme is obsessed with her cozy coup car right now... she climbs into it with a book or doll and just sits there, perfectly content just hanging out in her little car. Sometime she gets out of her car to only turn around and get right back in, and then repeats that process about 10 times. When it's time to eat dinner, Bryan pushes her into the kitchen like she's going through the "drive through". She thinks she is so cool in her car!-She has also become more cuddly. She has spent the last 6 months being miss independent and hating being held for even 5 seconds. Now she will walk up to me and cuddle my leg, or give me a kiss, or want to sit in my lap. Emme is becoming more and more affectionate, which is so sweet. She even plays with her dolls more and holds them and pats them on the back. She loves other babies, especially real ones.
-Books are one of Emmersons favorite things. She will sit in my lap while I read 5 whole books to her and she is so intrigued with them! She points and touches the pages and really gets into it. It's a lot of fun and I can only hope that her interest in books and reading continue as she gets older. It is nothing for her to walk over to her huge pile of toys and pick up a book to flip through versus a toy!
-Thanks to Bryan's Grandpa Pete, Emme has been learning to read... she can now read 2 works (which I'm sure is pure memorization, but apparently that is the start to the whole theory behind this program). She can read "arms up" and "hi". Which we only know because when she sees the flash card, she puts her arms up in the air or waves at us.
-Physically, Emmerson has always been very active. She has recently started running and is getting pretty quick. Just the other day she started to stomp her feet really fast on the kitchen floor, just like Happy Feet (the cartoon) and it is the funniest thing ever! She is so serious about it and tries really hard to go as fast as she can.
-Emotionally, Emme has been a more serious baby and very perceptive to her surroundings... we call her "nosey". She is becoming more and more giggly and silly as she ventures into the world of toddlerhood. Today she was laughing at herself for no apparent reason, which Bryan and I found hilarious.
I just love being a mom so much and I can tell Bryan is really enjoying fatherhood. Emmerson is our love and the blessing of our lives... there is nothing as special as having a child and watching them succeed at the small things in life. It makes your heart so full and happy and really makes you feel like you have a purpose.

Kim,
What a great post- seriously, one of my favorites! It always amazes me how much mothers know all the "ins and outs" of their babies! Emme is so lucky!
