Stuff with Steph

I felt like this weekend took forever to get here... work was insane all week and I had a weekend full of fun to look forward to- Stephanie was coming into town from California and it was Kristin and my father in law's birthdays!

Friday after work I put myself through a tortuous pharmacology exam on antimicrobial therapy... ew. Then I met up with my best girl, Stephanie and headed downtown to the Hilton where we would be residing for the evening. We enjoyed some red wine while we got ready and headed to dinner at Lucas Park Grille! We met up with Kim and Renee and shared some amazing hummus before my grilled beet salad arrived. It was to die for. I didn't know I loved beets so much! After dinner we went to the VIP section to join a group of friends for Kristin's 26th birthday celebration. It was great service and a nice chill evening. I have only been to Lucas Park on Saturday nights and Friday was a lot more laid back. I had a such a good time hanging out with Steph and celebrating Kristin's birthday.... her boyfriend was in from Miami so it was nice to get to know him a little better, too! If only Bryan was able to come with us, but he was busy playing gym hockey. Some friends of his started a new league and Friday was the first night. He said he really enjoyed himself and it must have been a good workout because he is still sore two days later!

Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my cousin, Mindy in Saint Charles at My Mother In-Laws House... it's a quaint little restaurant that was perfect for a shower. Emmerson, my Mom and Grandma and I sat together and enjoyed lunch, coffee and amazing cake. It was probably the best cake I have had in years... I should have asked where they got it!

After the shower we headed to the Festus Airport for Bryan's 50th birthday party! My Bryan had spent most of the day at the airport cooking, grilling, and getting set up for the party. It ended up being so much fun, even though I was literally exhausted from only a few hours of sleep the night before. It is always nice to see everyone and Emmerson had tons of fun playing with her cousins and all of the balloons! Her and I went home early and crashed while Bryan stayed out and celebrated until wee hours in the morning.

Sunday was my day with Emme. Since there is finally no snow or ice to worry about, I bundled her up and we tried out our new jogging stroller. We only ran 4 miles, but it felt like so much further because I am not used to pushing all of that weight up all of those hills... it was nice though, I would really feel it in my "backside"... haha. The stroller is the coolest thing, it has a connection for my iPhone which plays my music through speakers by Emme and up by me as well so we can both rock out while enjoying the outdoors. Emme lasted maybe a mile before falling asleep, but I am so pumped for warmer weather and all of the adventures her and I will be having now that we can run together!

While Bryan spent the day cleaning up from the party last night, her and I spent the afternoon shopping with Stephanie and her mom at the Galleria. Emmerson made out like a bandit since I had a really good coupon for Gymboree (my absolute favorite kid clothing store). I found a dress for some upcoming weddings and even found some good deals on some work clothes! I always have fun shopping with Steph, she has impeccable taste! It was sad leaving her though because I never know when I get to see her next. Bryan has agreed that I can plan a trip out to sunny California once I finish up my semester, so hopefully I will be seeing her in just a few months! It ended up being a great weekend and I didn't touch a lick of homework.... so that means another busy busy week ahead of me:)
