Birthdays and Parties

The weekend started with some major birthday celebrations.... Mom and Steve's birthdays were on Friday, Dec. 19th and Bryan's is Dec. 21st. Friday night after I got off of work I met up with Bryan and tons of our friends at Beile Street to celebrate him turning 27! It was fun and the band was really good... but 2:30 am bedtimes are not so good for this pregnant girl! I was exhausted the next day and pretty crabby... or should I say "hormonal"?!?! That's just a pregnant girl's excuse for feeling fat, tired and crabby in my opinion! ha ha.

Saturday was Donnie and Candice's couple's shower. The party was in a really old building somewhere in Festus... it was kinda neat and the bridesmaids had it decorated beautifully! The wedding theme is winter wonderland and the shower went right along with that. From the taco bar to the amazing dessert table, my stomach was very happy with me even though it couldn't enjoy the keg beer that everyone else felt the need to chug all night!

The highlight of the weekend came on Sunday... and not just because it was my husbands birthday, but because my baby brother was FINALLY HOME safe and sound in Sainte Genevieve! I can't even describe what it is like to see your brother after they have been gone at war for so long. It's exhilerating and such a happy time for the family. Mom, Dad, Greg, Whitney, Bryan, and I just hung out at my parents house with Steve for most of the day. He was busy unpacking and getting settled in, but we were all content just being around him! He is super skinny and weighs less than I do right now, which I HATE for obvious reasons. And he grew his hair out. Last time I saw him he was still shaving his head completely bald, now he has hair longer than Bryans!
This weekend was a great start to the Christmas week ahead... I feel so blessed to have the entire family here to spend the holidays with!
