This past weekend, Bryan flew out to Utah to meet Steve and road trip back home to Missouri. Steve is finally done with the Marine Corps for good! It is sooo exciting and such a relief to know he doesn't have to go overseas again.
They had a good time getting to spend some time together since they have not been able to much... Steve has been gone the entire time Bryan and I have been together, so I was glad they got to take this man trip together. They stopped in Kansas City Saturday night and partied in the Power and Lights District instead of coming on home. They stayed up really late and had a little too much fun, I think. Steve even ran into one of his high school friends; small world!
Sunday Mom made a welcome home dinner for Steve and we had some family time. Emmerson is just enthralled by Steve... when he is in the room, she stares as him. It's cute.
Tuesday was my last day in 8ICU. It was sad, but a fun day because the girls surprised me with a going away luncheon. They made everything vegetarian and some things organic, which was very thoughtful. They all know how particular I tend to be about what I eat! They are all so sweet and I know I am going to miss working with them like crazy!
On the other hand, I got to meet the people in my new department and they are a riot, so I am excited to go work with a group that seems equally as nice and fun to be around. I also got to see my new office! WOW! It's nice and roomy, I don't have to share it, I have a window and it's carpeted! Doesn't take much to make me happy, huh? haha. I can't wait to get in there on Monday and get things organized and get my Emme pics hung on the walls!
