Today Bryan and I are celebrating our first year together as a married couple.
But this past weekend, we did the real celebrating... it was just the two of us all weekend, which is always a nice treat since we spend so much time with our family and friends. (Who we love dearly, but do enjoy time to ourselves as well) Saturday we slept in and bummed around the house for awhile before we headed up north to do some shopping. We bought Emmerson's nursery furniture, which is super exciting... it's very pretty and I know she will love it! Then Bryan took me to dinner at a restaurant in Kirkwood called Citizen's Kane. It was delicious and quite a splurge for the two of us, but you know what they say... you only have one first year anniversary together!
Then on Sunday we slept in again and hung out around the house again... and at about 7pm Bryan thought it would be a good time to get some furniture moved around in the house that I had requested he move for me. It is so nice to have the house one step closer to being 'ready' for the baby and to have a guest bedroom again. Things like that make me so happy!
It has been so much fun looking back at this past year and reminiscing about our beautiful wedding, our honeymoon, and everything that came after that.... especially the anticipation of Emmerson's arrival.
As much fun as it is being Mrs. Bryan Browne, it isn't always easy. This first year taught me a lot about that. Life is amazing and true love is a special blessing from God, but remembering your wedding vows everyday and being there for that special person through all good and bad, happy and sad takes work and committment. Bryan and I are so committed to each other and have grown so much more in love this first year together. It's amazing how marriage changes your relationship; things really are different than when we were dating, but I can't put my finger on what. I just know how happy we are and how lucky I am to be Bryan's wife.
It is exciting to look forward to all of the anniversaries we will be celebrating together in the future and knowing that every year holds another chapter in our lives that brings us closer and more in love with each other.
So tonight we are treating ourselves once again to dinner which will consist of carry out pizza and left over wedding cake; which has held up really well thanks to my mom's super duper wrapping techniques. Sometimes, it's the simple things in life, like just being together, that mean the most...

Happy Anniversary Kimmie and Bryan!!! I remember your wedding day like it was yesterday. It is amazing how fast time flies and how quickly things change... I still cannot believe you two are going to be parents! I am so happy that I was able to share in your wedding day with the both of you a year ago and I am so excited to share in the even more exciting things to come! :) Love you both!
