My Heaven is a Cupcake Bar

Today started out great... I slept in until 9am. I have not slept that last in years and it felt amazing! I had a rather interesting night though. My belly kept tightening up and was really hard, but it didn't feel like contractions so we had no idea what was going on. I didn't get excited about it, but I think Bryan got his hopes up. A few times overnight he would wake up and ask me how I felt and if I was having contractions and then this morning he was up waiting for me to wake up so he could ask me again! After he got the clear and was convinced we would not become parents today he went off to work and I did some housework.
Then I headed up to Saint Louis to hang out with my girlfriend, Kristin! We had plans to see Bride Wars (which was so cute), but had a little time to spare before the movie started. That's how we ended up finding my heaven. A few years ago, I remembered seeing a segment on Show Me Saint Louis about this place called Jilly's Cupcake Bar and it has been in the back of my mind ever since as a place I wanted to check out.... so finally I did! And it was amazing. It was everything you would imagine a cupcake "bar" to be: a cute atmosphere to hang out with girlfriends, delicious coffee, and most importantly at least 15 kinds of huge, special cupcakes. They had names like Missy-Licious and Chocolate Thunder and in my opinion are way better than Sprinkle's Cupcakes on the west coast! They all have different stuffings like cheesecake or chocolate gaunache and the icing had candy on it, kinda like how ice cream is at Cold Stone. I had the Red Velvet Twist, which had caramel stuffing and the most amazing cream cheese/butter cream icing I have ever had the pleasure of tasting!
Tonight I made Bryan some of his favorite baby bella soup and then my "lil sis" Katelin came by for a visit. It was so nice to catch up with her since I don't see her very often. This maternity leave has been so nice to me so far because I have gotten to spend much needed time with a lot of my friends. It is amazing how much time a full time job, part time job and school can take up and take time away from good friends. As ready as I am to become a mom, this last week has been so nice and was some much needed down time that I don't think I realized I needed. Now that I"m all rested... it is time to bring on the baby!

Omg I love cupcakes. Have you ever been to the CupCakery in the CWE? It's good too. Maybe by the end of the week you will have little miss Emme!

Happy Inauguration Day! (Even thought it didn't turn out in our favor!)

Have a great day!
