These last few days have been very busy and full of waiting, and waiting, and more waiting! Friday Mom and I walked about 5 miles at the community center to try and get this labor thing going. We were booking it, even passing up other walkers on the track! Needless to say, it didn't work... it just made me sore and reminded me that my working out has totally slacked off these last few months! After walking we hung out with the fam and tried watching Juno... it didn't work because no one could keep their mouth shut. So it ended up being a night of chillin with my brother and parents... it was really nice. Saturday morning, Steve and Jamie left... sad face. I can't wait for Steve to come home permanently: September 11, 2009 is his last official day! I'm totally counting down already!
On Saturday Bryan and I finally had a chance to go outside and try to jar this baby lose with some motorized vehicle action... the four-wheeler wasn't starting, so we took out the golf cart instead. It was surprisingly bumpy (which is the whole point, I think) so it made me happy and hopeful that it would work. We went up and down a really bumpy gravel road and drove around in the yard making sure to hit the bumpy spots... nothing. Didn't work either. Our Saturday night entertainment was over at RJ's house. We went over early to help him get ready for the party and ended up playing Wii and watching the Bucket List (great movie) before other people got there! It was a good time, about 25 people showed up and everyone got really into card games. Bryan ended up playing poker and won $75... He was pretty proud of himself! I had a great time chatting with all of the girls since I'm not much of a poker player. I did learn some of the games they were playing and next time we get together to play poker I might have to give it a shot!
Today we slept in and took our time getting going this morning. I met up with my friend Kristen for some coffeetime/catch up time at BreadCo and then Bryan took for me another golf cart ride when I got home. Still nothing... I think Emme has dropped a little more, but no contractions or anything promising to report on! This whole anticipation thing has really been good for me. I'm such as planner and just not knowing when or how she is going to make her debut has been driving me crazy, yet it has taught me a lot of patience and is mellowing me out some, too. My daughter is already teaching me lessons about life! So for the rest of the evening I will keep on waiting while I enjoy these last few "quiet" and well rested moments of my life!
