Steve and Jamie's Visit

It has been so nice having my brother home this last month, but it has flown by! We have gotten to spend a good amount of time together, especially since his girlfriend, Jamie flew in on Tuesday. She is wonderful and they are so happy together... I just love seeing my baby brother happy, especially after everything he has been through this last year. Jamie's visit has been pretty exciting so far, the airlines lost her luggage so she has been surviving off of whatever Mom and Steve has (hence the camo jacket!) AND she happens to be here from California during the absolute coldest week of the year! Talk about a great way to get introduced to Missouri!

Yesterday they both joined my grandma and I for lunch and today we went out to the wineries in Sainte Genevieve with Bryan and my parents. It was absolutely freezing out, but we managed to keep warm inside all of the wineries we went to. It was Steve's first time going to
any of them and he didn't try a single glass of wine! Charleville was the first winery we went to and they have a microbrewery that Bryan is a huge fan of, so they started drinking beer right away and never got into the wine thing. Mom and Jamie tasted plenty, though! Mom bought a bottle from every winery we went to and Steve was actually being a sweetheart and bought Jamie a bottle from Crowne Valley. Between Crowne and Charleville we visited Chaumette where we had a delicious lunch. I have never eaten there and I highly recommend it to everyone... my veggie panini was to die for and their seasoned fries are seasoned with fresh herbs and lots of garlic! YUM!
It was a great day for some high quality family time. I didn't feel deprived from wine since I was busy enjoying some amazing truffles my dad bought me and his granddaughter! It was amusing going to the wineries with my dad who insisted on being the DD (I don't think he trusts my driving). We had a lot of fun and I am really going to miss Steve when he leaves us tomorrow!
